Rex Ryan Gets Vocal About This Weekend's Game
Rex Ryan hasn't exactly been quiet this week when it comes to offering his opinion about how things are going to go down this weekend as he and the Jets travel to Baltimore.
In one article (Rex Bets Torrey Won't Have Repeat) he says that he doesn't think that we will see a repeat performance on behalf of Torrey Smith this weekend and in another article he throws a low-blow to Baltimore, adding hype to the already rivalrous sentiments between the two teams. How did Terrell Suggs and Ray Lewis respond to his statements? Full story here - Rex Fuels Hype Machine
Could Foxworth be done with the Ravens?
"The Ravens announced that
they've placed cornerback Domonique Foxworth on injured reserve and re-signed
linebacker Prescott Burgess on Wednesday.
This could signal the end of Foxworth's disappointing run with the Ravens. He is scheduled to make $5.6 million in 2012, the final year of his contract. It's unlikely that the Ravens would bring him back at that price. "

Ray Lewis Named AFC Defensive Player of the Week
Ray Lewis was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week after he recorded 10 tackles, one sack and one forced fumble at St. Louis! This is the eighth time that Ray has won the award in his 16 year NFL career.
The Ravens have won the AFC Defensive Player of the Week award twice in the first three weeks of the season; Terrell Suggs won in Week 1 and Ray Lewis now in Week 3. Despite being ranked 13th overall in total defense, the Ravens have allowed the fewest points in football, 13.3 per game.

"Nice rebound but I'm still left wondering who these guys are. The Ravens will go as far as Joe Flacco takes them. Baltimore is now 19-2 when he has an in-game passer rating of 100 or better. With the inconsistent and oft-injured secondary a concern, the offense will need to put up more points in years past. Hey, 553 yards of offense and 37 points in St. Louis was a pretty good start."

"When QB Joe Flacco (389 yards) plays well, the Ravens are as good as anyone."

Ravens Reassert Themselves As They Ransack the Rams in St. Louis
Ravens fans can breathe a huge sigh of relief this morning after yesterday's massive win over the Rams in St. Louis. We witnessed two very different ball games Week 1 and Week 2 and many were anxious to see which "Ravens team" was going to show up to play in Week 3. Thankfully, it was the Week 1 team and we were all able to kick back and relax as the Ravens pounded the poor Rams into their own turf. It was great to see Flacco getting the protection that he needed to let the ball fly again this week and be able to connect with receivers, something he struggled with in Week 2.
It was a game full of franchise and even NFL records and was certainly the win the Ravens needed to propel them into their Week 4 matchup with the Jets at home in Baltimore.
Here are some of the headlines this morning as everyone continues to celebrate the success of rookie Torrey Smith and the Ravens finally landing themselves a winning record on the season:
@RavensInsider, Aaron Wilson, doles out his weekly 'Ravens Report Card' and let's just say that this week's Ravens GPA is astronomically higher than last week's. QB Joe Flacco earned himself an A for his performance yesterday which featured 3 TD passes, no interceptions, a career-high 389 passing yards and a 103.6 QB rating. The only disappointment was the performance of Special Teams yesterday, earning a C- from Wilson due to the missed field goal attempts. You can also check out Wilson's article on Torrey Smith's first ever NFL start in which he made an impressive name for himself.

Ravens, Rams both trying to shake off misery from Week 2 losses
"The same performance we
took responsibility for against Pittsburgh, we take responsibility for against
Tennessee," coach John Harbaugh said. "Both of those games are ours.
That's who we are, and we build off both of those games. We take what we learn
and we take it to St. Louis and try to become a better football team."
Baltimore let Tennessee's Matt Hasselbeck throw for 358 yards, and will likely need its
secondary to step up in order to slow down St. Louis' Sam Bradford.
"We shot ourselves in
the foot," coach Steve Spagnuolo said. "It's difficult enough to beat
any football team in this league without doing that."
Baltimore
totaled 229 yards of offense and turned the ball over three times. Joe Flacco, who had three touchdowns and a
117.6 quarterback rating in the opener, finished with two interceptions and a
51.2 last Sunday, his worst mark since Week 2 of last season.
The
Ravens are 18-2 when Flacco has a passer rating over 100, and this will be his first
game against the Rams. These teams haven't met since Baltimore forced six
turnovers in a 22-3 win on Oct. 14, 2007.
While the Ravens are nearly
unbeatable when Flacco plays well, they are also pretty good at bouncing back
from losses, having won eight straight following a defeat since October 2009.
The Rams' track record isn't
as impressive. They're 0-2 for a fifth straight season and have opened with
three consecutive losses three of the last four years.

Still questioning Sunday's 4th quarter field goal?
If you still just aren't quite over last weekend's loss and happen to keep thinking about the 'what if's?', you will definitely want to check out the recent post from NFL.com by Michael Lombardi. In his post, he says that Harbaugh's decision to take the field goal attempt isn't really the headscratcher that it seems to be! Why?
Under this scenario, Harbaugh kept his team alive -- albeit barely. By kicking the field goal, his players then had to execute every scenario perfectly -- which they failed to do. However by kicking the field goal, he spared his team from having to recover an onside kick. And assuming his defense played well, he also removed the need to move the ball down the field and find the end zone twice when his offense had been stagnant all day.
Check out his full analysis of the situation as well as some highlight video from Sunday's game here!

Five Takeaways From Titans Game
What can we learn from this weekend's loss as we prepare to hit the road again on Sunday? Check out the full post from the Baltimore Ravens website for more!
1. The loss to the Titans does not make the Steelers win meaningless.
2. Stopping Chris Johnson is not enough to beat the Titans.
3. The cornerback corps missed injured Jimmy Smith (ankle) and Chris Carr (thigh).
4. Flacco will get more criticism than he deserves for this loss.
5. Matt Hasselbeck isn't Ben Roethlisberger.
