"[ “I’d just like to play a little more, that’s all,” McGahee said. “Whatever it takes to win games. If that’s what I’ve got to do, then I’ll be a backup. But you can’t hold me down but for so long.”
Playing behind third-year playmaker Ray Rice, McGahee had a career-low 100 carries and 380 rushing yards this season. His 3.8 yards per carry average tied a career-low from 2005 and 2006, his final years as the Buffalo Bills’ featured tailback.
McGahee only had nine more rushes last year, but found the end zone a team-high 14 times. This year, he scored six times.
In a perfect world, the eight-year veteran would like to be a No. 1 option again, like he was in Baltimore in 2007 and much of 2008.
“I think everybody wants to be a full-time starter,” McGahee said. “That’s just how I am. It’s just something I want to do. I never just want to sit back and just be a backup.” ]"
