The NFL lockout affects “way more than us” says Ray Lewis

“Do this research if we don’t have a season — watch how much evil, which we call crime, watch how much crime picks up, if you take away our game,” Ray Lewis told ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio.

NFL statement on stay granted by Eighth Circuit

According to NFLlabor.com

“It is now time to devote all of our energy to reaching a comprehensive agreement that will improve the game for the benefit of current and retired players, teams, and, most importantly, the fans. This litigation has taken the parties away from the negotiating table where these issues should be resolved. We remain confident that the appellate court will determine that this is a labor dispute that should be governed by federal labor law. But the league and players, without further delay, should control their own destiny and decide the future of the NFL together through negotiation.”

58th Day of the Lockout is a Record-Breaking One

Rookie QB Tyrod Taylor Plans to Reach Out to Flacco

According to the Baltimore Ravens website, Taylor doesn't want to waste any time in learning the playbook so he plans to contact Flacco in the near future.

“I’m going to reach out to Flacco,” Taylor said in a conference call with media members shortly after he was drafted. “We’re teammates now, so hopefully we can get some study sessions on and just help my progression. The lockout is difficult for a quarterback because you’re not able to get the playbook as soon as you can, but everyone is in the lockout."

“I’m going to try to get in the playbook and learn it as quickly as possible.”

Taylor isn't the only Rookie eager to get started, Tandon Doss also has plans to receive a playbook and has been in contact with Ravens veterans Derrick Mason and Joe Flacco.

“So far, it’s been Derrick Mason and Flacco who I’ve talked to,” Doss told the Norris and Davis Show on 105.7 The Fan.  “Derrick’s just been trying to help me out in any way he can right now.  He’s sending me a playbook so I can get a grasp of this offense.
“Flacco reached out to me and told me that if I needed anything, just to give him a shout.”

Low Down on the Lockout

Ravens News Updates: May 3

A Candid Introduction to Jimmy Smith, Ravens 1st Round Pick

Get to know Jimmy Smith a little better through his interview on FoxSports.com's Barfly! Among other things he talks about Ray Lewis 'telling him how it's gonna be', 'knocking the snot out of Hines Ward' and how much he would pay Lardarius Webb to swap jerseys for number 21!

I was skeptical of the pick at first but I have to admit, I not only like the potential that he has to be a shutdown corner but I also like his laid back personality and honesty about his past mistakes!
